
Champagne Vincent d’Astrée was created in 1956, due to the desire and conviction of a handful of men who loved the land and who wished to have a certain degree of independance. At the time, the Champagne region’s economy were faltering.
These determined, commited men, with their solid grounding in local tradition and great devotion to their land, took on a veritable challenge - that of turning their grapes to good account by making their own champagne.
This renowned brand, which celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2006, now groups together more than 240 winegrowers attached to their locality, with a total cultivated area of 85 hectares. Every wine-growers member puts all his heart, passion and respect for nature in the service of the vine throughout the entire year, to offer the best of themselves to the grapes.
The 3 Champagne grape varieties - Pinot Meunier (55%), Pinot Noir (20%) and Chardonnay (25%) - are cultivated carefully in a locality classified as Premier Cru, for making authentic, rich and varied vintages, thanks to the know-how of a team managed by Patrick Boivin, an ardent advocate of respect for the Champagne tradition and of modern vinification techniques.
To bring out the quality of their wines, they commenced production themselves in true Champagne tradition. Observing the time-honoured principles of blending wines from the different vineyards slopes, they succeeded in making a fruit-filled champagne with a characteristic flavour …
Thus it was that Champagne Vincent d’Astrée came to be !!!
